The AFTEX, ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries 38th Council Meeting and 36 Plenary Session

The AFTEX, ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries 38^th Council Meeting and 36 Plenary Session was held on the 18-19^th January 2018 at Park Royal Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar.  The meeting was joined by Ministry of Industry, National Federation of Thai Textile Industries, Indonesian Textile Association, Garment Manufacturers Association Cambodia, Association of the Lao Garment Industry, Malaysian Textile Manufacturers, Indonesian Textile Association, Permanent Executive Secretary of AFTEX, Confederation of Garment Exporters of the Philippines (CONGEP), Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) and Myanmar Textile Manufacturers Association (MTMA).

First day of the meeting on 18th January, had discussed on the topics of the Council’s endorsement of meeting minutes for the 37^th Council Meeting and 36^th Plenary Meeting and confirmation and AFTEX Account and Membership Fees were discussed. At the end of the meeting, MGMA gave Souvenir to AFTEX delegates. Chief Delegates dinner hosted by MGMA at PARKROYAL hotel.

Second day of the meeting on 19th January, AFTEX Country Report Session was presented by each country: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. After Lunch, delegates had a tour to DJY Knitting Myanmar Co.Ltd and Myanmar Synergy Garment Co.Ltd in Hlaing Tharyar Industrial Zone which was organized by MGMA.
