Labour Law Awareness and WCC Training
Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) organized Labour Law Awareness and WCC Training in July, 2022 in three garments factories in Yangon , supported by UNICEF Myanmar.The purpose of this training is to provide the soft skills needed industrial development and creating better workplace for garments workers. The training was held on July 8 at Hyatt Knitwear Co.Ltd, July 15 at Star Sandar Garment and General Economic Co-Op Society Limited and July 26 at Unique HTT Co.,Ltd.
In the training, Managing Director of MGMA Daw Aye Mi Shein explained the project’s objectives and then Labour Officer of MGMA U Min Soe Han presented Employment, Work Hours, Payment of Wages, Employment Termination, Leave Holiday, Workplace Coordination Committee (WCC), and Settlement of Labour Dispute with Q & A session.
Labour Law Awareness is one of the soft skills required by garment workers and the training attended by (18) participants from at Hyatt Knitwear Co.Ltd, (25) participants from Star Sandar Garment and General Economic Co-Op Society Limited and (26) participants from Unique HTT Co.,Ltd. MGMA awarded certificate to each participant and distributed Labour Law Vinyl, MGMA CoC Vinyl, Nutrition Bowl, Nutrition pamphlet to piloted factories.
